Unfortunate Race for JJ Racing Team at the Red Bull Ring

The next race of the Mercedes-Benz Virtual GP 2024 championship took place on the legendary Spielberg circuit, also known as the Red Bull Ring, on August 27, 2024. However, the race ended in disappointment for the JJ Racing Team, as neither of their drivers managed to finish the race.

The race began dramatically for Lukáš Uhlík, who lost control of his formula car in the opening laps and crashed hard into the barriers. This incident prematurely ended his participation in the race. His teammate, František Kaštovský, had a more promising start and was fighting for a position in the top ten. Unfortunately, later in the race, he collided with an opponent, leading to an uncontrollable skid and a subsequent crash into the barrier, which definitively ended his race.

Comments from JJ Racing Team drivers:

František Kaštovský: „Qualifying was pretty decent from my perspective, although I lost some time in T3, which could have meant a better starting position. The race started well, but during the battle for positions, I made a mistake that I managed to recover from at the last moment. However, this led to a collision with an opponent, which meant the end of the race for me. Red Bull Ring is a track I was looking forward to, and I’m disappointed that I didn’t finish.“

Lukáš Uhlík: „Qualifying didn’t look bad, so I entered the race with a positive mindset. Unfortunately, in the second lap, I lost control of the car and crashed hard into the barriers. This race ended faster than I expected, which was very disappointing for me.“

The next championship race will take place at the Belgian Spa-Francorchamps circuit on September 7, 2024, where both JJ Racing Team drivers will have the opportunity to make up for the misfortune at the Red Bull Ring. You can watch the race live on the Virtual GP YouTube channel or on O2 TV Sport.
